H.E.R.O.S. INC. (Helicopter Engine Repair Overhaul Services) is a family-owned operation in Arizona committed to best-in-class services as factory-authorized Rolls-Royce M250 & RR 300 Authorized Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center (AMROC).

STORY

Our Beginning

The establishment of Helicopter Engine Repair Overhaul Services, Inc. (H.E.R.O.S. Inc.) provides operators across all sectors with an exclusive opportunity to benefit from personalized, high-quality engine repair and overhaul services for the M250 Series of engines and accessories. Since its inception by Heros Kajberouni in 1988, both individual ship owners and large fleet operators have come to rely on our exceptional workmanship, competitive pricing, and outstanding customer service.

At H.E.R.O.S. Inc., we uphold product quality by maintaining control over our processes. Each engine component undergoes a meticulous disassembly and is carefully processed through our facility, where it undergoes thorough cleaning, inspection, assembly, and testing to meet or surpass manufacturers’ specifications. Throughout the repair and overhaul process, we utilize the latest technologies and equipment to ensure a superior end product. Our shop technicians bring together factory training with decades of experience in repair, overhaul, and field operations.

Raffi Kajberouni is our current President and General Manager, who has been with the company since inception through family. Prior to his new appointment, Raffi served as Vice President for 2 years and 9 months before being promoted to their current position in January 2022.

Raffi has been instrumental in the success of Helicopter Engine Repair Overhaul Service, Inc (H.E.R.O.S. Inc), which was established in 1988 to provide customized engine repair and overhaul services to small operators. He, along with the trusted management, have helped the company grow and extend its services to operators world-wide while maintaining its reputation for reliable service.

Raffi’s exceptional leadership skills and business acumen have been demonstrated in various achievements. Raffi, along with Blake Davies, spearheaded the company’s move from California to Greater Phoenix, which helped them expand their business to new growth and potential.

Before joining H.E.R.O.S. Inc, Raffi served 15 years in law enforcement.

Blake is an accomplished professional who has made significant contributions to the aviation industry throughout his career. Joining H.E.R.O.S. Inc in August 2013 as the Director of Sales, Blake brought with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

His journey began in 1988 when he embarked on his career as an A&P technician, laying the foundation for his success. In April 1997, Blake commenced his tenure at Rolls-Royce Engine Services in Oakland, California.

Through sheer dedication and outstanding performance, he rapidly ascended the corporate ladder, ultimately attaining the esteemed position of Regional Sales and Service Manager for the Western Region of the United States.

In this role, Blake assumed responsibility for overseeing Rolls-Royce M250 Sales, Service, and Contracts, showcasing his exceptional leadership skills and business acumen.

Founder, Chairman of the Board

The creative mind and the chief strategist, Heros founded the company in 1988 with the single goal of being the best M250 engine overhaul provider in the country. Since then, the company has grown exponentially and, in the process, it has expanded its client base to offer a wide range of services to domestic and international operators.

Heros began his training in the 1970’s, when he joined the Agusta/Bell Training Program in Italy. After moving to the United States in 1979, Heros attended the Bell Helicopter School for engine and component overhaul, then briefly worked with Briles Wing and Helicopter.

Later, he joined Hamilton Standard, a division of United Technologies Corporation in 1982. In six years, Heros worked himself to the engine program manager. When Hamilton Standard decided to terminate the 250 Series engine program, Heros took this opportunity to purchase all the tooling and spare parts and founded, H.E.R.O.S Inc.

Starting as a one-man operator in a 1,350 square foot facility in Riverside, California, Heros has grown the organization to a 19,500 square foot facility, employing 20 employees, in Chandler, Arizona.

Carlos joined our team in February 2022, assuming the role of Director of Quality and later transitioning into the position of Accountable Manager. With over twenty years of experience in the turbine industry, Carlos is a highly accomplished professional who has made significant contributions to the organizations he has worked for.

Throughout his career, Carlos has developed a reputation for his exceptional problem-solving skills and his ability to navigate complex situations with limited standardization. His expertise in areas such as Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing has played a pivotal role in optimizing processes, increasing efficiency, and driving productivity within the organizations he has been a part of.

As a leader, Carlos possesses a unique ability to guide, inspire, and influence others, rallying them towards a common goal or vision. His leadership style fosters a collaborative and cohesive work environment, allowing teams to thrive and reach their full potential. Carlos’s strategic mindset and strong interpersonal skills enable him to build strong relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients alike.

Prior to his career in the turbine industry, Carlos served in the US Navy, further cultivating his sense of discipline, dedication, and teamwork. His military background instilled in him a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence, qualities that have contributed to his success in his professional endeavors.

Engine Shop

Our Engine Shop specializes in the repair, overhaul, and maintenance of the M250 series turbine engines. Our highly skilled technicians ensure the highest standards of quality and precision in engine diagnostics, disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly.

Accessory Shop

The Accessory Shop focuses on the repair, overhaul, and testing of engine accessories and components. This includes Fuel Control Units, Fuel Pumps, Governors, Bleed Valves, Fuel Nozzles, Anti-Ice Valves and more. Our dedicated technicians ensure that each accessory meets the required specifications and performance standards.

Machine Shop

Our Machine Shop is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and tools for precision machining and fabrication. Skilled machinists operate various equipment to manufacture and repair engine parts, ensuring precise tolerances and adherence to design specifications.

Materials Department

The Materials Department is responsible for managing the procurement and inventory of necessary materials, components, and supplies for our repair and overhaul operations. They ensure timely availability of high-quality materials, working closely with suppliers and maintaining strict quality control standards.

Shipping & Receiving

The Shipping and Receiving Department handles the logistics of incoming and outgoing engine components, accessories, and materials. They ensure proper packaging, documentation, and tracking of shipments to guarantee timely and secure delivery to and from our clients.

Quality Assurance

The Quality Assurance Department plays a vital role in ensuring that all repair and overhaul processes meet the highest quality standards. They perform thorough inspections, audits, and certifications to ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.

Sales

Our Sales Department is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions. They offer technical expertise, industry knowledge, and exceptional customer service to support clients in making informed decisions regarding their engine repair and overhaul requirements.

Peter has amassed over 30 years of specialized experience in the industry, particularly with Honeywell fuel systems such as LTS 101, PT6, and M250.

Peter’s journey in the aviation field began as a skilled Mechanic, specializing in five different helicopter types. His hands-on experience in maintaining and servicing these aircraft allowed him to develop a deep understanding of their intricacies and complexities. Peter ensured that each helicopter met the highest safety and operational standards before being cleared for flight.

Currently, as the Program Manager, Peter brings his extensive knowledge and experience to the table. He effectively manages projects related to engine accessories, coordinating the efforts of cross-functional teams and ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

With a diverse background in retail, inventory management, and procurement, Alicia has accumulated a wealth of experience in the field of Aerospace over the course of approximately six years.

Her strong work ethic and passion for optimizing operations led her to transition into the Aerospace industry. She joined a prominent Aerospace distribution company, where she excelled in stock counts and audits. Alicia dedicated three years to this company, consistently demonstrating her aptitude for inventory management. By the end of her tenure, she had assumed the role of an inventory planner in operations, responsible for managing international and domestic inventory.

As the procurement coordinator at H.E.R.O.S. Inc, Alicia continues to leverage her extensive experience and expertise to support the company’s procurement operations. Her role involves coordinating and optimizing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. Alicia holds an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Communications, which has further enhanced her interpersonal and communication skills.
